We’ve never been more energized or more committed, to serving you at the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. The uncertainty, upheaval and transformational times of the last 18+ months have reaffirmed how critical business and free enterprise are to the success of our state, our economy, our communities, and our families. It is something we promise to never lose sight of. Whether advocating at the Capitol on your behalf, developing new, virtual programming to meet your growing needs and the evolving times, or finding more and different ways to connect, we stand ready to serve you.

Over the next month, we will complete a leadership transition after two years of planning and execution. As the indomitable Rich Studley retires after 40 years of tireless, dedicated service to the MI Chamber and business community, we know he leaves a strong, dynamic foundation in place as the talented, longtime Senior Executive VP and General Counsel Jim Holcomb takes the helm as the new president and CEO.

The future of the MI Chamber is indeed bright.  And so is our focus on advancing our pillars to “Protect. Connect. Strengthen.” you, our members. Thank you for your membership and trust. We look forward to serving you in the new year. Here’s to a great 2022!

-Brenda Rowley, Chair Board of Directors
-Rich Studley, Outgoing President & CEO
-Jim Holcomb, Incoming President & CEOon

  • Voted “Most Effective Lobbying Membership Organization”             – 16 years and running!
  • Assisted 6,700+ members with information and education needs via a variety of webinar and training programs.
  • Supported 5,500+ businesses with questions and issues via phone/email.
  • Launched the “Reopen Michigan Safely” and “Listen to MI Business” initiative.
  • Created the “Spotlight” campaign to highlight member businesses.
  • Served as a trusted resource with COVID-19, PPE and Federal Vaccine Mandate toolkits with over a half-million page views.

FEDERAL VACCINE MANDATE TOOLKIT

The MI Chamber is working hard to offer relevant, timely information via this toolkit – geared for businesses with over 100 employees to understand, navigate and comply with the federal vaccine mandate and testing alternatives should they go forward. View the toolkit HERE.

Listen to MI Business

The MI Chamber led the launch of this statewide coalition after employers were shut out of the traditional rulemaking and comment process for the sweeping federal vaccine mandate from President Biden and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for any business with 100 or more employees. It’s about addressing the countless questions and unintended consequences, stemming negative impacts on Michigan’s economy, and not sowing more division when our communities and families can least afford it.

REOPEN MICHIGAN

The MI Chamber was proud to spearhead this coalition of nearly 60 job creators to help get Michigan back to work during the COVID-19 pandemic. By removing government closures and restrictions while providing health protocols based on science and data, businesses and employees developed plans to safely reopen. Thanks to so many of you raising your voices and sharing your stories, the campaign worked, and the Governor lifted the restrictions.
