Federal dollars and a little good luck helped Michigan balance its budget in 2020. As leaders look to develop the fiscal year 2021 – 2022 budget, how do they plan to make smart investments and spend one-time money coming down from Washington DC?
This moderated session peeled back the onion on the appropriations process and discussed the power of the purse.
The Future of Work
The workforce is undergoing a rapid transformation. In this session, we explored how organizations and policymakers can tackle pressing workplace challenges and opportunities such as filling the skills gap, competing with enhanced unemployment benefits, integrating emerging technologies, returning employees to in-person work and more.

COVID-19 brought an acute and sudden shock to many small businesses and downtowns. All corners of downtown life – from home to office, park to restaurants – are now in need of a reboot. In this session, we explored how we might work together to help them rebuild and reemerge even stronger.
