Unafraid to ask the tough questions, Carol Cain has built a legacy within the field of journalism, forging a path for creatives and women alike. Carol is a 12-time Emmy Award-Winning senior producer and host of “Michigan Matters,” a public affairs show that highlights a variety of guests and industries ranging from prominent political figures, like Presidents Joe Biden and Donald Trump, to key business players on both the state and national stage. In addition to countless Emmy winnings, the Detroit native has received awards and recognition from NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners), Inforum, the Greater Detroit Chinese Association, the Michigan Muslim Community Council, Niagara Foundation, Detroit Chinese Business Association, the Michigan Business and Professional Association and many others. The Michigan ATHENA program is honored to have Carol Cain moderating our upcoming Aug. 30 virtual event, from 9-10 a.m., surrounding the importance of mentorship in our personal and professional endeavors. Carol brings a unique perspective that will enrich this highly anticipated event.

Show me a successful person, and I’ll show you someone who has been encouraged along the way. Mentors are like North Stars as they help us discover things within ourselves and to consider paths we may not have envisioned.  – Carol Cain
