Talent Pipeline Management Funding for Michigan

Advocacy News – February 1, 2022

Our recent survey of Michigan Chamber members reaffirmed how critical the workforce shortage is for our state’s employers and the importance of building up a talent pipeline.

New funding from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) is designed to help address this need by supporting a Career Readiness Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) Academy. The U.S. Chamber’s TPM is a long-standing, nationally recognized program to enhance partnerships between community colleges and sub-baccalaureate programs and employers.

The goal of the TPM Academy is to increase alignment between employers and education providers to help students improve degree completion, credential attainment and employment and career advancement, particularly for people of color.

The state is now seeking partners to participate. If your business or someone you know is interested, you can join an informational webinar on Monday, Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. Registration for the event can be found here. Additionally, more information and applications for TPM can be found here – applications are due Friday, Feb. 25.
