State to Offer Work Share Seminar Thursday

January 15, 2021 – Advocacy News

The State of Michigan is offering a Work Share employer question and answer (Q&A) session on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m.

The Work Share program might be helpful to employers looking to restart their businesses and bring employees back from unemployment benefits.  Work Share allows employers to bring employees back with reduced hours – while employees collect partial unemployment benefits to make up a portion of the lost wages.  Employees on Work Share will also receive the $300 Federal Pandemic Unemployment  Compensation (FPUC) benefit on top of their state weekly benefit amount (up to $362/week) through the end of March.  More information on the program can be found here.

The state’s Unemployment Insurance Agency is offering this free Q&A session for employers via Microsoft Teams on Thursday, Jan. 21 from 2-3 p.m.  No RSVP is required.

Please note:  This program is hosted by the State of Michigan, not the Michigan Chamber.
