New state law requires workplace poster on veteran’s benefits, services

What happened: A new state law went into effect April 2 requiring any business that employs one or more employees at the employer’s place of business to display a veteran’s resource poster in a conspicuous place accessible to all their employees.

Why it matters: As of 2023, there were over 441,000 veterans living in Michigan. Proponents of the law say this will “make it convenient for Michigan veterans to find the benefits and services they need” by requiring employers to have a workplace posting with information on veteran’s benefits and services in the state.

How to get in compliance: Workplace poster law changes are difficult and time consuming to keep up with, so it may make sense for your business to consider the Michigan Chamber’s all-in-one solution for your labor law poster needs. This new poster is also available in a downloadable format on LEO’s website.
