A new Executive Order (E.O. 2020-161) outlines minimum safety protocols for all businesses and operations that require their employees to leave their residences.
The E.O. continues to require a COVID-19 preparedness and response plan; designating one or more worksite supervisors to implement, monitor and report on COVID-19 control strategies; providing COVID-19 training to employees; daily screening protocols; increased facility cleaning requirements; and standards for when an employee is identified with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
E.O. 2020-161 also outlines requirements for businesses whose work is primarily and traditionally performed outdoors, businesses in the construction industry, manufacturing facilities, research laboratories, retail stores, offices, restaurants and bars, outpatient health care facilities, companies offering in-home services (e.g., cleaners, repair persons, painters), barbers and similar personal-care services, sports and entertainment facilities, gyms and recreational centers, meat and poultry processing plants, casinos, and racetracks.
