Advocacy News – July 10, 2026
What’s happening: Local clerks across Michigan are recruiting poll workers now for the 2026 election season. The Michigan Chamber Foundation’s nonpartisan Support MI Clerks initiative is working with employers and community organizations to help connect more Michiganders with opportunities to serve.
Why it matters: Poll workers play an essential role in helping voting and Election Day run smoothly in communities across Michigan. Businesses are uniquely positioned to help by sharing information with employees and encouraging civic service.
How you can help: One easy way to get involved is by hosting a free 10–15 minute presentation – virtually or in person – for your employees or members about the important role poll workers play, the growing need across Michigan and how individuals and employers can support their local clerks and communities.
More ways to participate: We can tailor outreach to fit your organization. Whether it’s a newsletter article, an information table at an event, posters, FAQs or other ready-to-use resources, we’ll make it easy to share this opportunity.
