What’s new: The Michigan Chamber is fully committed to ensuring our member’s voices are heard by lawmakers throughout the legislative process. We are an organization driven by member input, which is why we want to hear from you! Coming in September, the MI Chamber staff will be leading two member-only roundtables focused on childcare and manufacturing.
- Childcare Roundtable | Thursday, Sept. 19 | 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
- Businesses, local community organizations and childcare providers are invited to an open discussion on where the MI Chamber should go when crafting key childcare initiatives. Attendees will hear from state departments and national leaders in the industry to set the scene for the discussion and learn more about Michigan’s childcare reality. This meeting will have a virtual and in-person option.
- Manufacturing Roundtable | Monday, Sept. 23 | 2-3:30 p.m.
- Rather than pick winners and losers, the MI Chamber advocates for policies that synergize our existing supply chains and promote a market driven approach to advanced manufacturing jobs and technologies. This roundtable, leveraging the expertise of companies from every industrial supply-chain, will help craft policies that will grow Michigan’s domestic marketplace for manufacturing.
Why it matters: The future of Michigan’s manufacturing and childcare climates are key components of attracting and retaining businesses to the Great Lakes State. Both are critical policy areas to address in order to help reverse Michigan’s consistently declining population and create communities where people want to work, live and play.
