Advocacy News – Sept. 8, 2022
In an effort to gather more information on any current and growing issues, including the length of time to review permit requests, and gauge ways to help enhance the regulated community’s experience with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, the Michigan Chamber has partnered with the Detroit and Grand Rapids regional chambers, along with the Home Builders Association of Michigan and Michigan Manufacturers Association, to survey members and better understand employer experiences with permitting in the state.
Information such as the type of permits and divisions within EGLE the member interacts with, how businesses would rate the process and whether they feel there is a need for reform, will all help the Chamber to be a more effective advocate for members that have to obtain permits of any kind with EGLE. Any identifiable information will be kept entirely confidential and anonymous; it will only be used as high-level observational data for department conversations .
Members can provide their feedback and participant in the brief survey until Monday, Sept. 12 here.
