Federal ‘PRO Act’ Would Harm Workers, Employers and Economy

Advocacy News – March 11, 2021

Earlier this week, the US House passed the so-called Protecting the Right to Organize Act or “PRO Act” (H.R. 842).  The Michigan Chamber, US Chamber and organizations across our state and nation strongly oppose the bill.

The PRO Act would force employees to pay union dues regardless of whether they support a union or a state (like Michigan) has a Right to Work law in place, threaten private ballots in union elections, strip workers of their independent contractor classification and more.

The Michigan Chamber strongly opposes this one-sided legislation because it harms employees, threatens job creation and undermines our economic recovery.  To learn more and make your voice heard in Congress on this issue, visit https://www.uschamber.com/stop-the-pro-act
