Did you know that 1 out of 3 Michigan families are eligible to receive low or no-cost childcare? This financial support is provided to families through the state’s Child Development and Care (CDC) program and can help your current or future employees afford quality childcare. As many employers continue to face talent recruitment and retention challenges – and where barriers like affordable childcare can be one key factor – this program may be able to help. Make sure you’re in the know and can help inform current or prospective employees regarding options they may have.
Here are a few quick parameters:
If an individual meets the following criteria, they may be eligible:
- They have children under 13,
- They need childcare because they are working or going to school, and
- Their income falls under one of the below:
- For a family of 2: <$3,052
- For a family of 3: <$3,838
- For a family of 4: <4,626
