Chamber lobbyist Wendy Block testified in support of HB 6030-2 and HB 6101 in the House Judiciary Committee this week that will protect businesses from frivolous COVID-19 related lawsuits.
The Committee will take several weeks of testimony and hear from numerous stakeholders. Representing Michigan Chamber members, Wendy was the first to testify on the package of bills and reinforced the importance of adopting COVID-19 liability protections for businesses who did the right thing and went above and beyond to help during such a critical time.
The Michigan Chamber is hopeful legislators on both sides of the aisle recognize that in order to achieve a quick and full economic recovery, businesses should be shielded from baseless lawsuits and unscrupulous trial attorneys.
