What’s happening: The state of Michigan – through its Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and Office of the Great Lakes (OGL) – has partnered with the Alliance for Water Efficiency to learn more about voluntary smart water efficiency practices across Michigan businesses and industrial sectors.
Why it matters: Michigan’s freshwater resources support economic activity and growth across our state. Innovation and sustainable use of this critical resource are essential for businesses to thrive into the future.
Smart water use:
-
Supports good stewardship of the environment,
-
Reduces energy use and carbon emissions, and
-
Improves business resiliency through saving money and water.
