Advocacy News – July 18, 2023
The Michigan Chamber of Commerce is spearheading a coalition of state and national organizations and employers seeking passage of the federal Safe Banking Act. This legislation is needed more than ever as Michiganders working in the state-legalized cannabis industry are not afforded common financial opportunities such as home loans, car loans, and in unique cases, even student loans.
As the cannabis industry continues to bring technology-leading, high-paying jobs into the Great Lakes State, it’s important to ensure that hardworking Michiganders who work for these companies have the same access to basic tools that can support their families and financial security.
