FIXING AND NAVIGATING THE NEW PAID SICK LEAVE AND MINIMUM WAGE RULES
In late 2024, the MI Chamber developed full throttled legislative effort and coalition aimed at softening the impact of a sweeping MI Supreme Court decision on earned sick time and the tipped minimum wage, ensuring it is more workable for employers and employees alike. While we believe the votes were there to advance the legislation, leaders in the House and Senate refused to allow lawmakers to vote on our suggested fix, meaning this fight will continue into early 2025.
As this debate continues, we will continue to update toolkit resources and conduct detailed briefings with live Q&A to help members and businesses understand their compliance obligations and answer
questions and concerns.
