On Sept. 10, the Kellogg Center came alive as more than 200 women leaders from across Michigan gathered for the 2025 MI ATHENA Leadership Summit. The energy was electric from the moment doors opened, carrying through a full day of connection, growth and inspiration.
This year’s Summit brought together high-achieving women representing every corner of the state, from emerging leaders to seasoned executives, united by a shared mission: to lead boldly, support one another and strengthen leadership across Michigan.
A Keynote That Sparked Action
Our keynote speaker, Courtney Lynch, set the tone for the day with a message that blended humor, honesty and actionable leadership insights. Her interactive keynote had the room clapping, stomping and shouting “yee-haw” as she challenged participants to embrace courage, connection and authenticity in their leadership journeys.
Breakout Sessions That Mattered
The Summit featured inspiring breakout sessions designed to meet women where they are in their leadership paths — whether developing boardroom influence, building resilience through change or leading with wellness in mind. These sessions gave attendees practical tools they can take back to their organizations and lives while creating space for authentic conversation and collaboration.

Beyond the sessions, the real magic happened in the hallways, at networking tables and over shared stories. Attendees left not only with new insights but also with expanded circles of mentors, allies and collaborators to help amplify their impact.

One of the highlights of the Summit was watching our MI ATHENA membership community grow.
