Several laws can come into play when an employee is injured, disabled or becomes ill on the job. The employee may be entitled to medical and/or disability-related leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or may be covered under state Workers' Compensation laws.
