The Michigan Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of Nancy Danhof for the State Board of Education as well as two candidates for the University of Michigan Board of Regents, Ron Weiser and Rob Steele, MD.
“As an active member of the State Board of Education, Nancy Danhof has shown a strong commitment to education excellence,” said Michigan Chamber President & CEO Rich Studley. “We are confident that she will continue to provide the leadership necessary to keep Michigan’s educational system moving forward.”
“It is critical that the State Board of Education works to ensure that every Michigan student graduates from high school ready for the next challenge, whether that is college, a trade school or the workforce,” noted Jim Holcomb, Senior Vice President of Business Advocacy & General Counsel for the Michigan Chamber. “Nancy is the right person to get the job done.”
Ron Weiser and Rob Steele, MD, are receiving the endorsement of the Michigan Chamber for the University of Michigan’s Board of Regents based upon their commitment to admission policies focused on accepting the best and brightest Michigan high school graduates, constraining costs, and ensuring the University is run like a business, not a bureaucracy.
“Both Mr. Weiser and Dr. Steele have the vision and leadership qualities needed to help guide this premier educational institution now and in the future,” added Studley.
