The state of Michigan just released a new mandatory notice for minimum wage that must be posted for your employees. Plus, the federal government recently released two mandatory notices that were effective in August.
These are mandatory state and federal revisions, so all Michigan and out-of-state locations must have the new poster versions displayed.
These are the three most recent updates. There are 18 total required employment notices that Michigan businesses with at least one employee must post.
- The updated Workforce Opportunity Wage Act poster contains the new 2017 Michigan Minimum Wage details and overtime coverage. Effective Date: January 1, 2017
- The revised Fair Labor Standards Act notice (federal minimum wage) contains new sections on employee classifications (independent contractors vs. employees) and break time for nursing mothers. Effective Date: August 1, 2016
- The new Employee Polygraph Protection Act notice has removed outdated information on civil penalties and provides current contact information for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. Effective Date: August 1, 2016
The Michigan Chamber makes it easy by consolidating ALL required state and federal postings for you.
