Looking to Bring Back Employees? State’s Work Share Program Might Help; Join Free Webinar For More Information

May 14, 2020

Employers looking to restart their businesses and bring employees back from unemployment might benefit from exploring the state’s Work Share program.  Work Share allows employers to bring employees back with reduced hours - while employees collect partial unemployment benefits to make up a portion of the lost wages.  Employees on Work Share will also receive the $600 federal unemployment benefits on top of their state weekly benefit amount.

Work Share allows employers to retain their current workforce and gives them the flexibility to choose which of their employees are part of a Work Share plan.

The state’s Unemployment Insurance Agency is offering a series of free webinars for employers on the Work Share program.  If you are interested in joining this webinar, you may log-in at the scheduled times by clicking the links below.  Please note:  The state has capped these webinars to 250 attendees each.  When you log on, you may need to wait for someone to let you into the meeting.  A copy of the PowerPoint for the webinar can be found here.

Please contact Wendy Block with any questions.  If you have a question for the UIA on Work Share, you may contact the inbox the state has set up specific to Work Share - uia-workshare@michigan.gov.
