Great News! Film Credits Zeroed Out Under Michigan House Committee Budget Recommendation

March 29, 2015

State Rep. Laura Cox is off to a great start as a new freshman legislator as she fights for Michigan taxpayers. Rep. Cox chairs the important General Government Subcommittee, which proposes spending levels for most state departments. The subcommittee has recommended that the ineffective Hollywood film subsidy be eliminated from the general budget, and the Michigan Chamber agrees! The film subsidy has failed to produce a meaningful return on investment to the state, and this costly spending to benefit Hollywood film producers is coming at the expense of other important Michigan priorities.

The subcommittee budget recommendation has been sent to the full House Appropriations committee to consider after the Spring Break. Please tell Rep. Cox that you appreciate her efforts to stand up for Michigan residents and taxpayers!
