We are pleased to report that the Michigan Chamber participated in two bill signing ceremonies last week. Signed into law was legislation to allow employers to adopt and apply a voluntary veterans’ preference employment policy (now Public Act 508 of 2014); and legislation to reform Michigan’s wage garnishment system (now Public Acts 14 and 15 of 2015). The Michigan Chamber actively advocated for these important reforms.
Many thanks to Senator David Knezek (D-Dearborn Heights) and Reps. Daniela Garcia (R-Holland) and Michael McCready (R-Birmingham) for their hard work on this legislative effort.
