The Michigan Supreme Court issued a major ruling impacting businesses of nearly every size and type re: new paid leave (known as the Earned Sick Time Act or ESTA) and minimum wage requirements. The Michigan Legislature passed changes to these laws, effective Feb. 21, 2025, to soften the impact of these two laws on employers and employees alike.
