Thank you for joining us!
Thank you for joining us for Chamber Day 2023, the Michigan Chamber’s version of a “lobby day.” We hope you enjoyed this opportunity to network with business, community and other thought leaders and connect with Michigan’s top policy makers on issues directly impacting our state’s business, economic and political environment. Please participate in a brief survey and let us know how we did!
AGENDA:
9 a.m. - Caffeinate and Connect
9:30 a.m. - Welcome
9:45 a.m. - Are You at the Table or on the Menu?
Keeping yourself at the table is an important part of making sure your voice is heard, and we are inviting well respected professionals in Lansing to discuss how to deliberate on issues even when you disagree.
10:30 a.m. – Networking Break
10:45 a.m. – Pundits and Pollsters
If you thought the 2022 election season was wild, you might want to buckle in for 2024.This panel of top political pundits and pollsters will discuss 2022 election insights and explore whether the 2024 presidential race might influence the outcome of political races in Michigan. As the face of campaigning shifts, so do strategies, polling approaches and insights, and even the way a candidate structures their campaign. We’ll discuss Michigan’s approach to all of these changes and whether we’re revolutionizing campaigning or following our neighbors’ lead.
11:30 a.m. – Networking Lunch with Lawmakers
12:30 p.m. - Across the Aisle: A Discussion with Legislative Leaders
With each election, House and Senate leadership compete for control of Michigan’s legislative future. Then, they must come together to create a working, functioning government for the people who did — or didn’t — vote them into office. We’ll hear from Democrat and Republican leadership about their competing visions for the state, legislative priorities, and opportunities to create an environment that encourages more dialogue, compromise and meaningful solutions on the most pressing issues facing our state.
1:30 p.m. - Make Your Voice Heard
Put your advocacy skills into action as you join the MI Chamber Business Advocacy team during House session to connect one-on-one with leading lawmakers.
2 p.m. - Strong Chambers for the Future
Designed for leaders and board members of local and regional chambers of commerce, this interactive session will forecast the future of chambers in Michigan. Focused on helping you to chart a path for your own organization, we will explore the changing nature of membership, funding and resource alignment and innovation in programs and events.
