As the Michigan Chamber begins a new press on the Governor and legislative leaders to find a path forward on the ‘Going PRO’ Talent Fund, a positive step forward took place last week with the introduction of Senate Bill 752.
SB 752 re-appropriates $36.5 million to the ‘Going PRO’ Talent Fund for the current fiscal talent fund are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2020. Getting an appropriation completed in January will allow that important work to continue without further interruption.
Funding the ‘Going PRO’ talent fund, along with getting the Governor’s proposed Michigan Reconnect program up and running ,will jump-start the skill building employers need to ease the workforce shortages seen across Michigan.
The Michigan Chamber will continue to aggressively support efforts to address the talent needs of our members by working with both the Legislature and the Governor.
