Regulations from MIOSHA and OSHA require that you license your powered industrial truck drivers; you may not accept licenses from operators’ prior employers. You must also have your operators demonstrate their skills on the truck(s) they will operate; that is not part of this course, but you will receive a checklist for ensuring that you complete those requirements. Please join us for this two-hour course to understand the classroom portion of general forklift (powered industrial truck) safety and operation.

Who Should Attend:

  • Plant managers
  • Logistics personnel
  • HR professionals

Agenda:

  • Forklifts and powered industrial trucks (pallet jacks, etc.)
  • What employers need to ensure each driver can do
  • Rules for licensing frequency and license recordkeeping
  • Materials handling parts 1-2, Subpart N
  • Forklift operator checklist
  • Written forklift test (this will be administered in class to all participants)
