SAFETY COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATION

Certification Requirements

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce sponsors a Safety Compliance Certification program to recognize educational achievement and professional excellence. The ongoing certification curriculum is comprised of top-quality courses designed to help you do your job more effectively. Enrollment in the certification program will demonstrate your continuing efforts toward voluntary compliance with MIOSHA and OSHA standards and regulations. Program fulfillment requirements are as follows:

Certification will be awarded when a participant accumulates a total of five credits.
At least three (3) in-house seminars (one credit each) must be included in the five credits. Some examples of seminars held include:
- OSHA 10-Hour (one credit) or OSHA 30-Hour (two credits)
- Develop and Maintain a Safety Program (one credit)
- Job Safety Analysis (one credit)
- What Your Safety Committee Needs To Know (one credit)
Watch our marketing materials or the web site for qualifying courses.
Up to two (2) of the safety online courses offered by Summit Trainingweb may be included in the five credits (one credit each). Some suggestions include:
- Forklift Safety
- Heat Stress
- Lockout/Tagout
- Office Ergonomics
- Industrial Ergonomic
- Incident Investigation
- Permit Required Confined Space Entry
Courses taken within one month of enrollment and beyond count towards program requirements.
The Michigan Chamber will maintain a transcript of participants' collective credits.
There is no fee for enrolling in the certification program. Participants pay only the regular registration fee for each seminar. Participants are under absolutely no obligation to attend our seminars or to complete the certification requirements.
Participants will receive promotional brochures on all qualifying seminars. Each brochure will state that the seminar is included in the certification curriculum and will give a credit value.
Participants will be awarded a personalized certificate upon completion of the certification program, which should be completed within three years of enrollment.
