Giving You the Information and Tools to be Involved
Getting actively involved in the legislative and political process is something the Michigan Chambers greatly encourages. Through this website and other communications, members
can readily learn about issues and easily contact their lawmakers. Our members have become a major force at the polls. To help members make informed decisions, the Chamber monitors
how the state’s 148 legislators vote on critical issues affecting the costs and ease of doing business. That monitoring tool, the
Michigan Chamber's Legislative Voting Record, is the main basis for the
Chamber’s campaign endorsements for incumbent legislators.
The 2009-2010 Legislative Voting Record includes roll call votes on
key business climate issues such as: agriculture, campaign finance, environment,
health care, human resources, legal reform, tax policy & budget, transportation,
and workplace interference. The voting record includes 21 roll call votes in the
State House and 24 roll call votes in the Michigan Senate.
