Michigan Business Leaders for Education ExcellenceAn Invitation For Creating Education Reform
|
|
 |
The Michigan Business Leaders for Educational Excellence (MBLEE) is an outgrowth of the ten-year educational reform initiative started by the Business Roundtable (BRT) in 1989.
The BRT's reform initiative is built on these operating assumptions:
- All students can learn at significantly higher levels.
- We know how to teach all students successfully.
- Curriculum content must lead to higher-order skills, and instructional strategies must be those that work.
- Every child must have an advocate.
The BRT's strategy calls for business leaders in each state to take up educational reform as a major issue. MBLEE's response to the BRT's challenge has included the development
of an agenda for fundamental and responsible education reform in Michigan.
MBLEE believes it is the responsibility of businesses to become informed
about the issues affecting education and to participate in the change process.
MBLEE's vision is one of quality education for all children that results in their meeting or exceeding world-class standards. We have accepted the challenge to act as a catalyst
for action and a broker for change in education reform in Michigan. Our commitment is long-term and the impact will be visible in the coming generations.
We invite you to join us
in achieving these goals for the sake of the children of Michigan.
