KEEP EDUCATED, KEEP CONNECTED
With seminars and online training available through the Michigan Chamber, you
and your employees can keep on top of the issues and be as competitive as
possible. Chamber membership also brings plenty of opportunities — from the
Chamber’s Future Forum & Annual Meeting to Leadership Michigan to golf
outings — to connect you with businesspeople that can help move your business
forward.
Opportunities to Learn and Network
Just as our business advocacy in Lansing is focused by the input of members,
so too is the creation of the many educational opportunities the Michigan
Chamber delivers. Those opportunities include professional development seminars
in tax and finance, such as one dealing with the new Michigan Business Tax; and
on a wide variety of human resources topics, such as wages and health savings
accounts. Others involve safety and environmental compliance, such as electrical
and forklift safety.
Training, Certification Online
Economical online seminars include a vast number of topics — business
management and administration, web design, accounting and hazard recognition to
name just a few. You and your staff can also can become certified in human
resource, environmental and safety compliance programs that, when completed,
affirm your business’ commitment to continuing education and compliance.
Making Business Connections
Through Leadership Michigan and the Future Forum & Annual Meeting, the
Chamber provides leadership development training and opportunities to discuss
issues important to our state and its economic health and future. In addition to
keying on important statewide issues, these venues provide excellent
opportunities to meet and interact with business and government leaders from all
over the state.
Member policy committees provide another forum for interacting with others
with similar interests, including health and human resources, tax policy and
environmental quality. Participation also puts you in a position to have an
impact on legislative positions that the State Chamber advocates. Some
opportunities to connect are less formal, such as the annual PAC II Golf Outing.
