Check Driving Records of Applicants and Employees

September 2, 2014

Commercial drivers are not the only professionals who should need a valid and safe driving record to work for you. After all, think of those employees who drive business or personal cars for sales calls, errands, and meetings on your behalf. It’s imperative to make sure they meet your driving requirements or risk losing your insurance coverage.

We recently checked the driving record of an applicant and learned he was driving 114 MPH in a 35 MPH on the main street of a small town. That applicant’s potential employer said, “A NASCAR driver would be afraid to go 60 miles per hour on that messed up road!” To be safe, it is recommended that you check the driving records of anyone who drives for you at least once a year.
