The Michigan Chamber today announced its support for House Bill 5002, legislation which will update, reform and modernize key areas of the Michigan’s Workers’ Compensation Act (“Act”).
The Michigan Chamber Board of Directors elected new officers to its Executive Committee at a meeting held this week at the MSU Kellogg Center in East Lansing. The Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Michigan Chamber set policy and establish priorities for the statewide business organization on key economic issues that affect job creation and business growth in Michigan.
The Michigan Chamber Board of Directors yesterday (Sept. 20) voted to support Governor Rick Snyder's proposal to build a New International Trade Crossing as well as a comprehensive statewide transportation investment plan. Read more about it in The Detroit News.
Jennifer Hoff will join the Michigan Chamber's Business Advocacy Team as Grassroots Action Coordinator, beginning September 19.

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce today released a study showing significant reforms are needed to protect Michigan’s valued no-fault automobile insurance system from collapse and keep premiums competitive with other states.
Tuesday, Sept. 6 -- A brief filed by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, the Michigan Bankers Association and the Michigan Retailers Association says given Michigan’s aging population, the failure to tax pension income in the future would have a “major impact” on revenue.
